What numbers to dial in order to call Japan from a landline phone to mobile or from cell to landline is clear by analogy with the above examples.

Practice has shown that everyone's instinct is developed differently, so I write in more detail.

In order to call Japan you need to dial 8 - this means that the call is not local. You should wait for a beep. Then you need to dial 10 - this says that the call will be international and then the phone code of Japan will be indicated.

It should be noted right away that 10 is access to the international connection for OJSC Rostelecom. For other operators, the international dialing code will be different. For example, 56 - SCS Sovintel LLC, 57 - TransTeleCom Company CJSC, 58 - MTT OJSC, 59 - Equant LLC.

Attention: number 8 and further the international access code described above are applicable only to Russia. In other countries, a different system for entering the international line has been adopted.

After that, you need to dial the country phone code (Japan dialing code - 81) At this stage of dialing, we got to the domestic telephone line of Japan.

Now it remains only to dial the telephone code of the city we want to call, and finally, the local phone number of the Japanese subscriber.

How to call from a landline (home) phone

• When calling from Russia to Japan, you should dial: 8-10 - [area code or mobile operator of Japan] - subscriber number
• when calling from Japan to Russia, you should dial: 001 - [area code or Russian mobile operator] - subscriber number

How to call from a mobile (cell) phone

• when calling from Russia to Japan, you should dial: + 81- [the code of the city or mobile operator of Japan] - subscriber number
• when calling from Japan to Russia, you should dial: + 7- [area code or Russian mobile operator] - subscriber number

In most countries of the world, the code for accessing the international line is 00, and the long-distance code is 0. If they do not fit, check the method of accessing the local operator.

Dialing rules for international calls

To call to another country, you need to know its international phone code. For Japan, it is 81. When dialing from a mobile phone, a plus is added before this code.

For example, to call to Japan you need to dial:
+81 (city or mobile operator code) subscriber number.

From a landline phone

When calling from a landline phone, in addition to the country code, you need to know the exit code to the international line of the country from which the call is made.

To call from Russia to Japan you must first dial 8, then wait for the beep and enter 10 and only then enter the code of Japan 81:
8-tone 10 81 (city or mobile operator code) subscriber number.

For a call from Japan first you need to dial the code to enter the international line from the country - 010, and then the code of the desired country and the rest of the number:
010 (country code of the country you are calling to) (city or mobile operator code) subscriber number.
